Human traficking in the global context: Reviewing the situation and response
Author(s): Dr. Pham Van Minh
Abstract: In the twenty-first century, human trafficking is expected to continue to grow as a result of globalisation, economic and demographic inequality, the rise of illicit trade, and the increase in conflicts around the world. Both global and regional responses are required to stem the growth of this transnational problem. In this paper, the author examines the trafficking situation, root causes for the existence of human trafficking, international anti-trafficking legislation, as well as global responses to human trafficking.
