Abstract
This research consisted in investigating on the origin, the supply and marketing circuits and the actors of the "Chinese medicines". We wanted to understand the mutations that could be experienced by traditional Chinese medicines in their development in local Ivorian context, in the form of hybrid objects. The investigation involved about 30 sellers of "Chinese medicines" interviewed using a semi-structured interview guide. The results reveal that, originally, these drugs were made in China and exported to Côte d'Ivoire. But, with the gradual establishment of Chinese specialists in the country, the products are now manufactured and packaged on site. The plants used are of Chinese origin and most of the medicines are based on two plants, one called '' ginseng '' and the other '' godji ''. But these are mixed with local plants, and finally under the name of "Chinese medicines" there are hybrid drugs.
