Global power shift in the 21st century: USA and China
Authors

Abstract
The global balance of power has drastically changed in the 21st century, as seen by China's quick rise and the United States' relative collapse. This study takes a qualitative and analytical approach to investigate the structural dynamics, causes, and consequences of this global power shift. The study assesses the economic, military, technological, and geopolitical aspects of power, drawing on important theories of international relations such realism, liberalism, and power transition theory. It contends that China's ascent poses a fundamental challenge that is altering the international order toward a more multipolar or bipolar structure, even while the United States still has a large amount of global power. The study's conclusion evaluates the transition's wider effects on developing countries, regional stability, and global governance.
