Abstract
The education of women was made possible not only through formal
education, but various attempts of governmental/non-governmental organisations
via Non-formal education (NFE). The emphasis on literacy was also substantiated
by Non-formal skill-oriented teaching imparted through various policies, but in
Bihar they were partially successful due to conservative and backward society.
