India’s transformation as a global power: Prospects and challenges
Authors
Priyanka Dubey
Abstract
India’s rapid economic growth has resulted in increased urbanization
and migration to cities, which has led to an increase in traffic congestion,
pollution, and pressure on public services. The relationship between India and
China is also complex, with tensions over border disputes and economic
competition. India’s foreign policy will need to balance these relationships to
avoid escalation of tensions and potential conflicts. India’s economic growth
has been uneven, with significant disparities in wealth and development between
different regions and social groups. To address these challenges, India will
need to continue its efforts to modernize and reform its economy, investing in
infrastructure and human capital. The country will also need to focus on
sustainable development and reducing its carbon footprint to mitigate the
impact of climate change. Diplomatic efforts to address regional conflicts and
promote peaceful relations with its neighbours will also be crucial. India’s
transformation as a global power has great potential, but it will require
continued efforts and strategic planning to overcome the challenges and realize
its prospects.
